  • When addressing Water Problem Solving issues

Taking a few minutes each week to maintain and monitor aquarium conditions is the key to a healthy aquarium.   pH control is imperative to prevent the harmful effects of overly alkaline or acidic aquarium water on fish and plant life.  Fish require a specific pH level to thrive.  However, pH in an aquarium can fluctuate due to fish waste, addition of tap water and the build-up of natural acids.   Use this kit to easily and accurately measure the pH level and maintain a healthy freshwater community aquarium.

Why pH in an Aquaponics system is so important?

pH levels (water hardness) are important to successful plant growth as ideal levels help the plant absorb the various important nutrients

You need to find a happy balance for both plants and fish, and that would be between 6.5 and 6.9… but don’t worry if it goes as high as 8.

Nature is amazing, and most systems will eventually balance themselves out once the nitrification cycle has taken hold.
